Helicopter cargo transport by sling load is a an effective and precise way to move cargo in an area that is inaccessbile to trucks and cranes. Cottage building supplies, heavy bale loads with gravel/stones/earth, mini-backhoes and machines, posts and construction beams/frames, container and cement - these are just some examples of sling loads. Pegasus Helicopter delivers your cargo with high precision based on length of line. Cargo cable lengths can vary anywhere from 15-70 meter in length dependent on the type of operation and obstacles on the ground. We use Airbus H125 helicopters ( formerly called: AS 350 B3 ) for all our cargo missions. This type of helicopter can lift up to 1300 kg. For jobs requiring several lifts it is most economical to divide the cargo into lifts of 800-900 kg each. COTTAGE CONSTRUCTION MATERIALS Are you planning on building a cottage in a remote or road-inaccessible location? Our helicopters will deliver your materials exactly where you want them. We can fly in any materials you might need and can even handle cement for building foundations and walls prior to construction. Windows are also no problem - so long as they are carefully wrapped. In addition to building materials for your cottage, we can transport any landscape materials you might need such as gravel, stones and earth. During the final stages of construction we can deliver any appliances and furniture you plan to have in your cottage. In short, there is no item you should have to transport in yourself. Loads of 800-900 kg are the most effective when planning cargo lifts for cottage construction but our helicopters can handle as much as 1300 kg at a time if necessary. Given a distance of approximately 1 km between loading area and construction site, we are able to fly about 20 loads per flight hour. Pegasus Helicopter provides all equipment (safety straps, nets, industrial strength sacks) and the experienced crew required to ensure your cargo is delivered safely. In addition, we establish radio communiation between the pilot and personel on the ground at the cottage site so they know exactly what is being delivered with each load. CONSTRUCTION SITES / CONTRACTORS If you've been hired to build in an area that is inaccessible by road or water, helicopter transport is your best option for moving building materials. It is becoming more and more common to build infrastructure in mountain areas or coastal locations. We can fly in most types of machinery and construction materials with loads of up to 1300 kg - portables for housing construction crews, mini-backhoes, cement, rafts and more... We have years of experience flying loads from ferries and barges, often a significant cost-saving option compared with flying cargo from the nearest road. Are you overseeing a job inaccessibile to large machines, or where the owner needs to proect the natural terrain from belt treads? Pegasus Helicopter can solve your problem! TELECOM Telecom stations regularly require equipment upgrades. Helicopter transport is usually the most effective way to achieve this - gentle, effective and safe. We can fly in any kind of materials required for the station and remove outdated equipment too. Our crews can dismantle old antennas directly from the mast. We can also erect new masts, transport telecom equipment housing and cement for the base of the mast. The length of the mast will determine how long a line we use. We often fly up to a 70 meter long line under the helicopter to come as close to the mast as possible with the load. CONCRETE We routinely fly cement directly from the mixer to the form site. This often proves to be more efficient than mixing the cement at the site. We have our own cement loaders which can fly with approximately 360 litres of cement per lift. This allows us to empty the cement directly into the form. This method may be used to construct piers, breakwalls, foundations etc. If you provide the flight distance and type/dimensions of the concrete form, we can offer an estimate of how many cubic metres we are able to transport per hour. That way you can compare direct helicopter transport of the concrete to other available methods. POWER COMPANIES Power companies often rely on helicopters to perform various jobs. They might need to transport equipment out to a remote site or send in a crew to do upgrades. Pegasus Helicopter has been providing services to power companies for many years. We erect and dismantle towers, transport concrete or personnel, tow lines for line construction and provide transport for any construction required on a dam. FIREFIGHTING / MOUNTAIN SPRAYING Pegasus Helicopter has firefighting equipment stationed in Stavanger and at the Oslo base. Our water vessels carry up to 1200 litre water loads for controlling wild fires. These same water buckets may be used by the highways department or road construction firms to spray mountain sides and remove loose material.
