Pegasus Helicopter specializes in powerline inspection. Our helicopter base, equipment and experienced pilots combine to provide the best possible crew to handle all your air surveillance needs. Experience tells us that turbine helicopters are the most effective equipment for powerline inspections. This type of helicopter provides optimal work space for observers and comes with the extra lift power needed for difficult terrain and high winds. Equally important are our pilots who are highly trained and experienced in powerline inspections. Pegasus pilots take special, manadatory training courses to ensure they are familiar with the different kinds of lines and components. They understand what the observers are looking for and are therefore an asset. Each inspection begins with a mandatory review of safety procedures and a map briefing of the area to be inspected. Proper computer equipment is essential for any visual inspection. Multiple types of equipment may be used at once if desired. We can provide the following optional equipment along with the expertise needed for the scope of a particular assignment: COMPUTER - to be used by the observer to record deviations, positions and photos. An electronic report is generated. It can then be efficiently imported into other software programs. TOPPTEST - an advanced noise detection device which detects faults in porcelain components along with areas where there could be a disruption in contact. SPAR 4 - a simple device used to find radio noise generated by a potential fault. ”POINTER” - gauge equipment designed to pinpoint a faulty component in a master array that is generating radio noise. HEAT-SEEKING CAMERA - usually used to find heat sources in the transmission network, but may also be used on the distribution network. Powerline inspections are becoming more and more specialized and require expertise in the latest equipment. We make sure we stay updated on the latest developments in the field so we can deliver the best possible servie to you. Feel free to contact us for more information.
